About
It all started when…
I bought a camera for a 3 week trip to Italy 2 years before we actually left. We had decided we needed a "good" camera to take on this trip. Costco had a good deal on a Nikon D7100, so I bought it. In the case that came with it is where it stayed.
Fast forward 2 years and I am on my trip and I have never used my camera other than a few pictures of our dogs. As we move from northern Italy towards Rome, I find that I am enjoying myself and I see my pictures are looking better as the trip progresses. Half way through the trip, I buy my second lens in Florence, because I realize I need more zoom that what I had.
Once we get home and look at the pictures, we notice not only how the pictures got better with each outing, but my "eye" for a picture improved as well. After we have a few printed on large canvas and hung around our house, I realize not only did I enjoy taking photos, I enjoyed art of making them and the never ending search for good shots.
Now, 3 years after that trip to Italy (and many lenses and accessories later) that opened my eyes to the joy that is photography, and ROAT Photography was born. I may never be a master like Ansel Adams, but I enjoy my art and I hope you enjoy seeing the places I go through my eyes.
